Get to Know the Nine Divisions of Chulabhorn Royal Academy and Their Roles

Inspired by the lifelong vision and dedication of Her Royal Highness Princess Chulabhorn Krom Phra Srisavangavadhana—who has always believed that everyone deserves good health and a good quality of life—Chulabhorn Royal Academy was founded in 2016.

The Academy was created as a place where education, research, and healthcare come together. Here, scientists, medical professionals, and educators work side by side to advance knowledge in science, technology, medicine, and public health, while turning that knowledge into real benefits for people.

Beyond classrooms and laboratories, Chulabhorn Royal Academy provides high-quality healthcare and medical services that meet international standards, offered on a non-profit basis, with a strong commitment to supporting the underprivileged and those in need. Guided by the philosophy of “Be Excellent for Lives” the Academy continues its mission to improve lives and contribute to a healthier, more equitable society in Thailand.



Chulabhorn Royal Academy carries out its mission through six core areas of work:

Education – Developing future leaders and professional researchers in health sciences, science, medical technology, public health, and environmental studies.

Research and Innovation – Advancing practical knowledge and innovations that help guide and drive national and societal development.
3.
Academic and Professional Services – Providing high-quality, equitable, and inclusive health-related academic and professional services to society.
4.
Organizational Excellence – Managing the Academy as an efficient, continuously evolving organization striving for excellence at the international level.
5.
Cultural Preservation – Preserving and promoting arts, culture, religion, moral values, and local wisdom.
6.
Royal Aspiration and Social Commitment – Upholding the royal aspiration of serving the people with perseverance, compassion, and a strong commitment to the public good.


In 2025, Chulabhorn Royal Academy announced a new organizational structure comprising seven main units, In accordance with the Chulabhorn Royal Academy Announcement on the “Establishment and Definition of Duties of CRA Divisions, B.E. 2568 (2025),” and the Establishment and Definition of Duties of CRA Divisions (No. 2), B.E. 2569 (2026)

This restructuring was implemented to enhance effective and efficient governance, and to ensure alignment with the Academy’s royal aspiration, vision, mission, and organizational goals.
The nine organizational units are as follows:

1. Office of Chulabhorn Royal Academy

Responsible for general administration, formulating policies and plans, and coordinating with relevant departments to support the operations of Chulabhorn Royal Academy. The Office of Chulabhorn Royal Academy is divided into the following divisions:

2. HRH Princess Chulabhorn College of Medical Science

The College is responsible for advancing academic affairs, research, and innovation, and for providing comprehensive support in education, academic services, research, and innovation to various units of Chulabhorn Royal Academy.
The College comprises the following internal units:

• HRH Princess Chulabhorn Disaster and Emergency Medicine Center (CDEM)

3. Chulabhorn Hospital 

Chulabhorn Hospital is responsible for providing medical and public health services, as well as academic services, research, and professional training. The Hospital also supports education and collaborative research in partnership with other units and organizations, both within and outside Chulabhorn Royal Academy.
Chulabhorn Royal Academy is committed to developing and strengthening a high-quality healthcare system that serves people from all backgrounds with equity and fairness. In this context, Chulabhorn Hospital serves as the Academy’s primary tertiary care medical facility, delivering advanced and specialized healthcare services to the public.

At present, Chulabhorn Hospital operates across four medical facilities, comprising:
• Agrarajakumari Building, Chulabhorn Hospital (100 beds)
• National Cyclotron and PET Centre
• Krom Phra Srisavangavadhana Building, Chulabhorn Hospital (400 beds)
• Chulabhorn Chalermprakiet Medical Centre

4. Faculty of Health Science Technology 

The Faculty of Health Science Technology is responsible for providing education at various levels to produce graduates and develop professionals in the field of health science technology. The Faculty also delivers academic services, conducts research, and develops innovations in health science technology.
A key focus of the Faculty is the development of specialized professionals in health science fields where there is a national shortage, in order to respond to the country’s needs and to support the health and well-being of the Thai population. Particular emphasis is placed on expanding access to qualified professionals in rural and remote areas, ensuring comprehensive healthcare support nationwide.


The Faculty is organized into schools that are responsible for teaching and learning, as follows:
• School of Integrated Innovative Educations and Graduate Studies 
• School of Radiological Technology 
• School of Sonographer 
• School of Human Kinetics and Health 
• School of Paramedicine 
• School of Hospital Management Innovation


The Faculty of Health Science Technology offers the following academic programs:

5.   Princess Agrarajakumari Faculty of Nursing 

The Faculty of Nursing is responsible for providing education at various levels to produce graduates and develop professionals in nursing and health sciences. The Faculty also delivers academic services, conducts research, and develops innovations in nursing and healthcare to support the advancement of the health system and society.

The Princess Agrarajakumari Faculty of Nursing offers the following academic programs:

• Practical Nurse Certificate Program (Elderly Care)
• Specialty Nursing Program in Critical Care Nursing (Adult and Gerontological)

6. Princess Srisavangavadhana Faculty of Medicine

8. Faculty of Food and Nutrition Innovation

The Faculty of Food and Nutrition Innovation is committed to providing education at various levels with the aim of producing graduates and developing professionals in the fields of food innovation and nutrition. It also offers academic services, conducts research, and fosters innovation in food and nutrition, in accordance with the assignments related to food and nutrition innovation as entrusted by Chulabhorn Royal Academy Council. In the academic year 2025, the Faculty of Food and Nutrition Innovation launched its first academic program: the Bachelor of Science Program in Medical Food Technology.

9. Faculty of Engineering 

The Faculty of Engineering is dedicated to providing education at multiple levels to produce graduates and enhance expertise in biomedical engineering and modern engineering. It also offers academic services, conducts research, and creates innovations in these fields, with the objective of supporting effective solutions to medical and public health challenges, as assigned by Chulabhorn Royal Academy Council. In the academic year 2025, the Faculty launched its first program: the Bachelor of Engineering in Biomedical Engineering.
