The Chulabhorn Royal Academy Archive and Museum, located on the First Floor of the Princess Srisavangavadhana College of Medicine Building, is established in reverent tribute to the illustrious royal contributions in medicine and public health of the monarchs of the Chakri Dynasty and the Mahidol Royal Family.
This Archive and Museum preserves and proclaims the enduring royal legacy that laid the foundations of modern medical education and public health in Thailand, for the well-being of the Thai people and humanity at large.
It stands as a place of remembrance, learning, and inspiration for personnel and students of the Chulabhorn Royal Academy, guiding present and future generations to walk in the royal footsteps of dedication, compassion, and service, and to advance health, knowledge, and innovation in accordance with the Academy’s guiding principle: “Be Excellent for Lives.”
Royal Commemorative Exhibition
This exhibition is presented under the theme “Healthcare Journey during the Chakri Dynasty” to honour the immeasurable royal contributions of the Chakri Dynasty to the advancement of medicine and public health in Thailand.
From the reign of King Rama I to the present era, the Kings of the Chakri Dynasty have upheld an unwavering royal determination to relieve suffering, promote well-being, and ensure a strong foundation of medical and public health services for the Thai people.
The exhibition pays special tribute to the Mahidol Dynasty, notably Prince Mahidol of Songkla, revered as “The Father of Modern Medicine of Thailand,” and Princess Srinagarindra, honoured as “The Mother of Thai Rural Medicine,” whose royal dedication laid the cornerstone of modern medical education and public health development in the nation.
It further commemorates the profound legacy of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej the Great, whose lifelong devotion to science, research, medicine, public health, and sustainable development significantly enhanced the quality of life of the Thai people throughout his historic reign.
The exhibition also reflects the continued preservation, advancement, and expansion of these royal aspirations under the guidance of Her Royal Highness Princess Chulabhorn Krom Phra Srisavangavadhana, whose exceptional leadership in science and technology has played a pivotal role in elevating Thai medicine to internationally recognised standards of excellence, for the enduring well-being of all lives.

Royal Visit to Chulabhorn Royal Academy
On Thursday, 20 November 2025, Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn graciously visited Chulabhorn Royal Academy, Lak Si District, Bangkok, together with Her Royal Highness Princess Chulabhorn Krom Phra Srisavangavadhana.
On this occasion, Their Royal Highnesses presided over the opening ceremony of the Royal Monument of King Bhumibol Adulyadej, alongside the Royal Monument of Prince Mahidol of Songkla, enshrined together with Her Royal Highness Princess Srinagarindra.
Following the ceremony, Their Royal Highnesses graciously proceeded to visit the exhibitions at the Chulabhorn Royal Academy Archives and Museum, where they viewed displays highlighting the royal legacy and contributions to medicine, public health, science, and education.
The visit marked a significant occasion for the Academy and served as a source of great honour and inspiration, reaffirming its mission to advance knowledge and innovation for the well-being of the Thai people and the sustainable development of the nation.

The entrance to the Chulabhorn Royal Academy Archives and Museum is inspired by the Wisetchaisri Gate of the Grand Palace, the principal ceremonial gateway established during the reign of King Rama I.
This design symbolically invites visitors to step into a space under the royal benevolence of the Chakri Dynasty, marking the beginning of a journey through the history of Thai medicine and public health.
A large-scale LED installation introduces key royal initiatives and milestones in medical and public health development, reflecting the enduring royal commitment to the well-being of the Thai people from the founding of the Rattanakosin era to the present day.
Zone 2: The River of Compassion
The Mahidol Dynasty — Foundations of Modern Thai Medicine and Public Health
This gallery presents the royal wisdom, vision, and enduring contributions of the Mahidol Dynasty to Thai medicine, public health, education, and quality of life. The exhibition honours Prince Mahidol of Songkla, Princess Srinagarindra, and King Bhumibol Adulyadej the Great, whose royal initiatives laid the foundations of modern medical education, nursing, and public health in Thailand.
The spatial design draws inspiration from the private study of Prince Mahidol of Songkla, combining historical artefacts and multimedia displays to illustrate his academic journey in Europe and in medicine and public health at Harvard University, USA, alongside his artistic talents.
Through a blend of period-inspired furnishings and contemporary design, the gallery invites visitors to reflect on the era in which these royal figures devoted their lives to the health and well-being of the Thai people.
The exhibition also highlights the continued royal legacy under Her Royal Highness Princess Chulabhorn Krom Phra Srisavangavadhana, including her initiatives in medical education, the expansion of Chulabhorn Hospital (400 Beds), and the establishment of the Chulabhorn Royal Academy.
The gallery concludes with prototype sculptures of the royal monuments of King Bhumibol Adulyadej the Great and Prince Mahidol of Songkla, enshrined with Princess Srinagarindra, symbolising the transmission of history, compassion, and royal benevolence through art for futuree generations.
Zone 3: Drops of the Royal Heart
From the Heavens to the Earth — The Science of Kingship toward Sustainable Development**
This gallery honours the royal contributions of King Bhumibol Adulyadej the Great in science, technology, medicine, and public health, reflecting his unwavering dedication to improving the quality of life of the Thai people.
The exhibition features recreated personal working objects and intellectual property developed under his royal name, highlighting his recognition as the Father of Thai Technology and the world’s only monarch granted patents and petty patents. These works exemplify his royal wisdom in research, innovation, and the practical application of modern technology to solve real-world challenges.
The gallery also presents royal development projects in health and public well-being, alongside visual narratives of His Majesty’s nationwide visits to communities across all regions, especially remote areas. These journeys reflect the deep bond between the King and his people and his enduring commitment to people-centred and sustainable development.
The exhibition further illustrates how this royal legacy continues through the present reign, reinforcing the foundational principles of compassion, innovation, and sustainability for the enduring well-being of the nation.
Zone 4: The Sustaining Stream of the People

This gallery pays tribute to the royal dedication and visionary leadership of Her Royal Highness Princess Chulabhorn Krom Phra Srisavangavadhana, President of the Chulabhorn Royal Academy.
The exhibition highlights her lifelong commitment to alleviating suffering and enhancing the well-being of the Thai people through royal initiatives in science, research and innovation, medicine, and public health, advancing sustainable development for the nation. It also celebrates her exceptional artistic talent, inspired by and inherited from King Bhumibol Adulyadej the Great, reflecting the harmonious integration of science and art.
The final section presents “The Legacy of Royal Benevolence”—from royal aspiration to the establishment of the Chulabhorn Royal Academy, a leading institution dedicated to education, research, and advanced medical services. Through immersive projection mapping, the exhibition conveys the Academy’s mission to harness advanced science and innovation to ensure equitable access to health and well-being, in pursuit of Be Excellent for Lives.
