On this occasion, the presiding chair lit incense and candles to pay homage to the Triple Gem and led the recitation to undertake the Five Precepts. An officer then delivered the offering of Sanghadana, after which the monks gave a blessing. Participants practiced meditation and dedicated merit to Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother, followed by a water-pouring ceremony to receive blessings. Afterwards, participants offered dry food and rice in alms and presented Thai traditional offerings to nine monks from Wat Thewasunthon in Chatuchak District for auspiciousness.

Makha Bucha Day is an important Buddhist holy day that commemorates four significant events which occurred simultaneously without prior arrangement: 1,250 monks gathered together, all of them were enlightened Arahants, all had been directly ordained by the Buddha, and the event took place on the full moon day of the third lunar month. On this day, the Buddha delivered the fundamental teaching known as the Ovada Patimokkha, which summarizes the core principles of Buddhism: to refrain from evil, to do good, and to purify the mind. Therefore, it is a day when Buddhists are encouraged to reflect on the teachings of Buddhism and participate in religious activities such as making merit at temples, listening to Dhamma sermons, and taking part in candlelight processions in homage to the Buddha.
