Chulabhorn Hospital Welcomes Executives from Department of Surgery, Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, to Strengthen Academic Collaboration and Residency Training Excellence
BANGKOK, THAILAND (March 12, 2026) – Chulabhorn Hospital, Chulabhorn Royal Academy (CRA), led by Assoc. Prof. Surasak Leelaudomlipi, M.D., Acting Director of Chulabhorn Hospital, along with hospital executives and surgical teams, extended a warm welcome to the executive delegation from the Department of Surgery, Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University. The visiting delegation was led by Clinical Prof. Chanien Ruangsetakit, M.D., Head of the Department of Surgery, Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital. The visit took place at Krom Phra Srisavangavadhana Building, Chulabhorn Hospital, Laksi, Bangkok.
This visit marks a significant milestone in fostering academic exchange and building a robust professional network between the two prestigious institutions. A key highlight of the visit was the joint meeting to discuss the development plan for the "Residency Training Program in Surgery." This collaboration aims to lay a solid foundation for the next generation of surgeons by integrating Siriraj’s renowned clinical teaching excellence with the cutting-edge innovations of Chulabhorn Hospital. This synergy is expected to drive the curriculum toward modernity, effectively addressing future healthcare challenges.
During the visit, the delegation toured the operations and state-of-the-art facilities in Chulabhorn Hospital across the
Krom Phra Srisavangavadhana Building and the Agrarajakumari Building. The tour included the Medical Organization office, physician on-call rooms, academic conference rooms, endoscopy suites, operating theaters, and the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). They also visited the Surgical Ward, Outpatient Surgical Department, Ward 7B , Gastroenterology and Hepatology, the Princess Srisavangavadhana Faculty of Medicine Library, and medical student dormitories.
The delegation also had the opportunity to view the "Space Age Tiger" Royal Art Exhibition Hall. This comprehensive visit allowed the guests to experience the authentic professional environment of Chulabhorn Hospital’s medical staff and exchange valuable perspectives that will contribute to the continued advancement of the surgical field.
