Chulabhorn Royal Academy Signs MOU to Improve Prachachuen Road for the Benefit of the Public

Chulabhorn Royal Academy, together with seven government agencies and state enterprises, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for the Prachachuen Road Improvement Project, covering the section from the Metropolitan Waterworks Authority to Chaeng Watthana Road (Road No. 11). The project aims to expand the roadway from two lanes to four lanes, enhancing traffic capacity and improving access to healthcare facilities, government offices, and surrounding areas of the Government Complex Commemorating His Majesty the King's 80th Birthday Anniversary.

The signing ceremony was held on 21 May 2026, with Assistant Professor Dr. Rawin Rawiwong, Acting Deputy Secretary-General of Chulabhorn Royal Academy, representing the Academy. The participating organizations included DAD Asset Development Co., Ltd., the Metropolitan Waterworks Authority, the Metropolitan Electricity Authority, the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration, Nonthaburi Province, the Nonthaburi Area Treasury Office, and National Telecom Public Company Limited (NT).

The project covers a total distance of approximately 1.3 kilometers and is designed to enhance the capacity of the transportation network to accommodate increasing traffic to and from the Government Complex and nearby economic zones. The route connects with Road No. 8, providing access to Vibhavadi Rangsit Road and Kamphaeng Phet 6 Road, as well as Road No. 10, which links directly to Prachachuen Road. Upon completion, the upgraded roadway is expected to accommodate at least 400,000 vehicle trips per month, with construction scheduled for completion by September 2027.

Under the MOU, Chulabhorn Royal Academy will play a key role in coordinating and supporting the overall implementation of the project. The initiative aims to strengthen transportation infrastructure, making travel more convenient, efficient, and safer for the public, healthcare professionals, patients, service recipients, and visitors accessing Chulabhorn Royal Academy, Chulabhorn Hospital, and other government agencies in the area.

This collaboration demonstrates the successful integration of government agencies and state enterprises in improving public infrastructure and enhancing citizens' quality of life. It also reflects Chulabhorn Royal Academy's commitment to publicly disclosing information on its operations and collaborative initiatives in accordance with the principles of the Integrity and Transparency Assessment (ITA). These principles emphasize transparent communication of organizational missions, operational achievements, and institutional development for the benefit of the public.

Chulabhorn Royal Academy expects that the Prachachuen Road expansion project will help alleviate traffic congestion, support urban growth, and improve equitable and sustainable access to healthcare services, in line with its philosophy:

"Excellence for Every Life."
