Chulabhorn Hospital Shares Nuclear Medicine Expertise, Elevating Thai–Kazakhstan Cancer Research and Treatment Cooperation
Chulabhorn Hospital, Chulabhorn Royal Academy, actively promoted academic collaboration in cancer research and treatment between Thailand and the Republic of Kazakhstan under the "Development of Thai–Kazakhstan Cooperation in Cancer Research and Treatment Project." Organized by the Royal Thai Embassy in Astana, Republic of Kazakhstan, the event took place from September 5–12, 2026, in Semey, Republic of Kazakhstan, aiming to enhance medical personnel capabilities and foster knowledge exchange between the two nations.
Professor Chanisa Chotipanich M.D., Deputy Director of Chulabhorn Hospital, Chulabhorn Royal Academy, and a specialist in nuclear medicine, served as a keynote speaker on the topic "Current Capabilities of PET/CT and PET/MRI in Oncology: Theranostics and Modern Targeted Radiopharmaceuticals." She shared insights into the potential of PET/CT and PET/MRI technologies in oncology, as well as Theranostics approaches and modern targeted radiopharmaceuticals designed to support precise and personalized cancer diagnosis and treatment.
Additionally, Prof. Chanisa participated in hands-on workshop activities focusing on nuclear medicine, radiopharmaceuticals, and precision medicine. She also visited the Center for Nuclear Medicine and Oncology in Semey to exchange knowledge, expertise, and best practices regarding the application of advanced technologies in cancer patient care.
This initiative marks another significant milestone in strengthening academic networks between Thailand and the Republic of Kazakhstan. It further builds upon knowledge in cancer research, nuclear medicine, radiopharmaceuticals, and precision medicine to develop workforce potential and advance the future standard of cancer care.
