The “Tippimarn Creating Art” project is held annually, with this being the 4th edition. Panya Vijinthanasarn, Director of Tippimarn Art Gallery, and Associate Professor Viranya Chirathikit, Deputy Director of Tippimarn Art Gallery, presided over the event. Suphachai Sermsukcharoenchai, a lecturer from the Department of Traditional Arts, Poh-Chang Academy of Arts, Rajamangala University of Technology Rattanakosin, honored the event as a guest speaker for the session “Hand-Painted Fans with Lotus Motifs: Made by Hand Fan-Tasia.”
The painting of fans with exquisite lotus motifs through Thai art this time is in remembrance of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother. We often see images of Her Majesty carrying a folding fan (Phra Patchani) with her Thai traditional costumes during daytime functions. The folding fan was one of Her Majesty’s royal preferences and is traditionally decorated with Thai patterns depicting various literary stories, such as Ramakien and Lilit Phra Lo. It is, therefore, a craft that youth should learn and conserve. Additionally, participants appreciated the artistic genius and prestige of Her Royal Highness Princess Chulabhorn Krom Phra Srisavangavadhana, "SIRISILAPIN and National Artist” in the exhibition area of Tippimarn Art Gallery, which left a deep impression on all attendees.
Tippimarn Art Gallery invites everyone to appreciate the royal artistic genius through the "FANTASIA" Exhibition, a project in honor of Professor Dr. Her Royal Highness Princess Chulabhorn Krom Phra Srisavangavadhana. The gallery is open daily, including public holidays, from 09:00 AM – 04:30 PM. The admission fee is 50 THB per person, with proceeds going to the Tippimarn Foundation for sick and stray animals under Royal Patronage.
