Chulabhorn Royal Academy Hosts Week 28 of Health Ambassador Program (Class 6) Focusing on Medical Robotics
On Thursday, April 2, 2026, Chulabhorn Royal Academy, through Chulabhorn Hospital, organized the 28th week of the Health Ambassador Program (Class 6) at the Chulabhorn Research Institute Convention Center.
The first session featured Associate Professor Dr. Jackrit Suthakorn from the Department of Biomedical Engineering, Mahidol University. He lectured on "Medical Robotics Innovation: Surgery, Rehabilitation, and Modern Healthcare Services," providing insights into the integration of robotics in healthcare. His talk covered high-precision surgery, patient rehabilitation, and hospital service support, aiming to increase treatment efficiency, reduce staff workload, and enhance patient quality of life in the digital era.
The following session focused on "Robotic-Assisted Surgery Innovation," presented by Associate Professor Commander Dr. Sorayouth Chumnanvej, a neurosurgeon from Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University. He highlighted the evolution from traditional surgery to the use of robotics and Artificial Intelligence (AI). These technologies improve surgical precision, minimize blood loss and complications, and facilitate faster recovery. He also emphasized how AI assists in surgical planning and predictive analytics, while remaining under the close supervision of surgeons to ensure maximum safety.
