Chulabhorn Hospital Achieves ISO 9001 Certification, Strengthening Medical Support Services
Chulabhorn Hospital, Chulabhorn Royal Academy, has been certified under the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System for its medical support service units. The certification aims to enhance operational efficiency, elevate service quality, and strengthen confidence in critical support systems that ensure safe, standardized, and continuous patient care.
The ISO 9001:2015 certification reflects the hospital’s commitment to developing an effective, systematic, and auditable internal management system—covering planning, process control, risk management, performance monitoring and evaluation, and continuous improvement—to support its core mission of medical services and patient care for the public.
A total of 10 units under Chulabhorn Hospital have been certified, namely: Strategic and Budget Management Unit; Academic Affairs and Network Relations Unit; Social Work Unit; Quality and Risk Development Unit; Patient Transfer and Transportation Unit; Medical Records and Statistics Unit; Pharmacy Store; Medical Supplies Unit; Inpatient Admission and Referral Unit; and Sterile Medical Supplies Unit.
This achievement strengthens the hospital’s medical support system across multiple dimensions, including resource management, patient information and medical records management, pharmaceuticals and medical supplies management, patient transfer, risk management, and multidisciplinary team support—key elements that directly impact the quality of care, patient safety, and overall patient experience.
The ISO 9001:2015 certification is therefore an integral part of organizational development and the enhancement of the hospital’s management system to be effective, transparent, accountable, and results-oriented. It aligns with public information disclosure principles under the Integrity and Transparency Assessment (ITA), which emphasizes transparent communication of missions, performance outcomes, and organizational development to the public.
