Tree Planting and Aquatic Animals Releasing Project to Honor the Queen Mother

Chulabhorn Royal Academy launched the Tree Planting and Aquatic Animals Releasing Project in honor of the 90th Birthday of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother, August 12, 2022.


Professor Nithi Mahanonda, MD, Secretary-General of Chulabhorn Royal Academy, presided over the opening ceremony of the project on March 16, 2022, at the assembly hall, Wat Phra That Chae Hang.  Clinical Professor Chomsri Kositchaiwat, MD, Rector of the HRH Princess Chulabhorn College of Medical Science, Professor Jiraporn Laothamatas, MD, Dean of the Faculty of Health Science Technology, Major General Kanisorn Asama, Commander-in-Chief of the 38th Military Circle, Mr. Phongsin Phala, Sheriff of Phu Piang, Mr. Surapon Thiansut, Mayor of Nan District, Ms. Chayaporn Tiacharoenwong, Head of Nan Provincial Fisheries Office, administrators of Nan local government organizations, heads of Nan government offices and the public also attended the ceremony.




The project was organized to realize Her Majesty’s aspiration of conservation of forests and watersheds to support the work of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great, who prioritized the development of water resources so that Thai people would have enough water for their livelihoods and farming.

Wat Phra That Chae Hang kindly provided the venue for the opening ceremony and a place for the participants to plant some trees.  The 38th Military Circle offered manpower to carry plants to the planting sites.  Daroon Wittaya School (Ban Suan Tan) provided equipment for the planting.  Tha Nao Subdistrict Administrative Organization offered water trucks and staff to water the planted trees.  Nan Inland Fisheries Research and Development Center provided 9,999 aquatic animals for release into natural water bodies.
