Professor Dr. Her Royal Highness Princess Chulabhorn Krom Phra Srisavangavadhana Visited Chiang Mai to Oversee PMV Volunteers and Chulabhorn Hospital Medical Units

CHIANG MAI, April 25, 2026 – Professor Dr. Her Royal Highness Princess Chulabhorn Krom Phra Srisavangavadhana, President of Chulabhorn Royal Academy, Chancellor of Chulabhorn Royal Academy Council, and Acting Secretary-General of Chulabhorn Royal Academy, visited Chom Thong School in Chom Thong District, Chiang Mai. The royal visit focused on inspecting the operations of the Princess Mother's Medical Volunteer (PMMV) Foundation and providing advanced medical support to the local community. Under the Princess’s royal initiative, the Chulabhorn Royal Academy deployed a specialized medical team from Chulabhorn Hospital to collaborate with the local PMMV unit of Chiang Mai. This mission was led by Professor Emeritus Rajata Rajatanavin M.D., Acting Deputy Secretary-General of Chulabhorn Royal Academy. To foster the next generation of healthcare providers, the Princess also directed faculty and students from the Princess Srisavangavadhana Faculty of Medicine and Medical to join the mobile unit. This integration provided students with vital field experience while delivering comprehensive care to 369 residents. Services included: General medical examinations and dental care, Traditional Thai medicine and acupuncture, Chest X-rays and specialized breast cancer screenings. Demonstrating her profound dedication to patient care, Her Royal Highness personally granted an audience to four patients suffering from severe conditions, including Atrial Septal Defect (ASD), Down syndrome, Multiple Sclerosis (MS) with developmental delays, and colorectal cancer with chronic kidney failure.

The Princess meticulously interviewed each patient to assess their medical history and collaborated with physicians to establish immediate treatment plans. She has officially accepted all four patients under her Royal Patronage, facilitating their transfer to Chom Thong, Maharaj Nakorn Chiang Mai, and Nakornping Hospitals. Furthermore, she provided personal financial grants to cover travel expenses and daily living costs for the patients and their families.
