Chulabhorn Hospital Royal Medical Unit in Lamphun Province

Professor Dr. Her Royal Highness Princess Chulabhorn Krom Phra Srisavangavadhana Visited Lamphun to Oversee PMV Volunteers and Chulabhorn Hospital Medical Units

On April 23 2026, Professor Dr. Her Royal Highness Princess Chulabhorn Krom Phra Srisavangavadhana, President of Chulabhorn Royal Academy, Chancellor of Chulabhorn Royal Academy Council, and Acting Secretary-General of Chulabhorn Royal Academy, traveled to Pasang Industrial and Community Education College in Pasang District, Lamphun Province. The visit aimed to inspect the operations of the Princess Mother's Medical Volunteer (PMMV) Foundation and oversee the royal medical services provided to the local citizens. The Chulabhorn Hospital Medical Unit joined forces with the PMHV unit of Lamphun. Led by Professor Chanisa Chotipanich M.D., Deputy Director of Chulabhorn Hospital, the team collaborated with various local health sectors, including: Lamphun Provincial Public Health Office Lamphun, Pasang, Li, Thung Hua Chang, Wiang Nong Long, and Ban Hong Hospitals

The mobile unit provided comprehensive healthcare services, including general check-ups, dental care, traditional Thai medicine, and breast cancer screening. A total of 262 patients received treatment during the visit.

​​​​​​​Her Royal Highness personally visited five selected patients suffering from severe conditions, including: Anal cancer, Lung cancer, Heart disease, Brain tumor, Congenital cerebral palsy. The Princess engaged in personal conversations with the patients to inquire about their symptoms and conducted clinical consultations with the attending physicians to determine appropriate initial treatments. All five patients were accepted under Her Royal Highness’s patronage and referred to specialized institutions such as Chulabhorn Hospital, Maharaj Nakorn Chiang Mai Hospital, Nakornping Hospital, and the Rajanagarindra Institute of Child Development for further treatment. Additionally, the Princess granted financial aid to cover travel expenses and daily living costs for these patients.

Practical Learning: Third-year medical students and faculty members from the Princess Srisavangavadhana Faculty of Medicine, Chulabhorn Royal Academy participated in the mobile unit to gain hands-on experience in rural healthcare. The Princess presented PMHV badges, pins, and plaques to officers and volunteers of the Lamphun PMHV unit to boost morale. In her closing remarks, the Princess expressed her sincere appreciation for the medical personnel and volunteers working diligently to provide healthcare access to citizens in remote areas, fulfilling the royal mission to improve public health and well-being.
