Royal Medical Team Provides Services in Ang Thong Province

The royal medical teams from Chulabhorn Hospital provided services and gave royal medicine kits and eyeglasses to people in Ang Thong Province as a tribute to Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother on the occasion of Her Majesty’s birthday anniversary and as a tribute to Her Royal Highness Princess Chulabhorn Krom Phra Srisavangavadhana.


On Friday 11 August 2023, the royal medical teams from Chulabhorn Hospital provided medical services and distributed 200 medicine kits to the people in the area.  The hospital optometrists performed vision tests and gave eyeglasses to those who had vision problems, and the ophthalmologists examined the people’s eyes.  This activity was carried out to pay tribute to Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother on the occasion of Her Majesty’s birthday anniversary.  Mr. Rangsan Tancharoen, Governor of Ang Thong Province, together with head officials and the people in the area, welcomed the teams at the Subdistrict Municipality Office of Ram Ma Sak, Pho Thong District.  The governor and the head officials showed gratitude towards the benevolence of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother and Her Royal Highness Chulabhorn Krom Phra Srisavangavadhana and gave the kits to the people receiving the services.  Then they visited the medical teams and 4 bedridden patients.

Pho Thong, one of the seven districts of Ang Thong Province, comprises 15 subdistricts and 110 villages.  In Pho Thong District, there are 1 hospital, 1 district public health office, 16 subdistrict health promotion hospitals and 1 Chaleom Pra Kiat 60 Years Angthong Health Care Center.  Out of the 40, 283 residents in Pho Thong District, 11,806 residents were elderly.  Most of the people in this area experienced liver diseases, diabetes and chronic respiratory diseases.  There were 413 people receiving health examinations.  The top five complaints involved 1) eyes (391 cases), 2. muscles, bones and joints (120 cases), 3. digestive system (29 cases),  4. nerves (22 cases) and 5. skin (21 cases).  There were 27 referrals.  Those who had the health examinations and were given the medicine kits expressed deep gratitude to Her Royal Highness’s devotion to improving the wellbeing of all Thai people.  Such medical services were considered primary health care provision, boosted morale and raised spirits of the people and officials in Pho Thong District.
