CRA Organizes Colonoscopy and Cornea Transplantation in Phetchabun

Chulabhorn Royal Academy in conjunction with Phetchabun Provincial Public Health Center Office provided colonoscopy and cornea transplantation to the public in Phetchabun to honor Professor Dr. Her Royal Highness Princess Chulabhorn Krom Phra Srisavangavadhana, President of Chulabhorn Royal Academy, on the occasion of Her Royal Highness’s birthday anniversary, July 4.  Professor Nithi Mahanonda, MD, Secretary-General of Chulabhorn Royal Academy, presided over the opening ceremony of this event at Saengchan Auditorium, Phetchabun Hospital.  Mr. Krit Kongmuang, Governor, together with Mr. Niti Hetanurak, Director of Phetchabun Hospital and his team, attended the ceremony.


Colorectal cancer screening tests have been carried out in this province since 1918.  So far, lots of people have been on the waiting list for follow-up colonoscopy after positive FIT test.  Through the Center for Collaboration Development in Medical Services and Networks, Chulabhorn Royal Academy, Chulabhorn Royal Academy jointly works with Phetchabun Provincial Public Health Center Office to provide colonoscopy to the public to honor Professor Dr. Her Royal Highness Princess Chulabhorn Krom Phra Srisavangavadhana, President of Chulabhorn Royal Academy, on the occasion of Her Royal Highness’s birthday anniversary at Phetchabun Hospital.  Three hundred and sixty people got the test.  In addition, cornea transplantation was provided free of charge on this occasion.

Chulabhorn Royal Academy and Phetchabun Provincial Public Health Center Office provided the services from July 4 – 12, 2022 as follows:

July 4 – 6: Cornea transplantation: 3 cases at Phetchabun Hospital

July 7 – 8:  Colonoscopy: 120 cases at Wichian Buri Hospital

July 9 – 10:  Colonoscopy: 120 cases at Phetchabun Hospital

July 11 – 12:  Colonoscopy: 120 cases at Lomsak Hospital

Due to the survey, there are 122 patients waiting for the transplantation.  Fourteen patients would like to be treated at Phetchabun Hospital, 49 at the hospitals that they have registered and 19 at other hospitals.  Between July 3 and 4, three patients received cornea transplantation and seventeen cataract surgery.  This event follows Her Royal Highness’s aspiration to provide all Thai people with standardized health care services.

Plus, the Secretary-General of Chulabhorn Royal Academy gave the royal medical kit to the three patients receiving cornea transplantation and those who got colonoscopy.  All of the patients and people in the province sincerely appreciated Her Royal Highness’s compassion, kindness and benevolence towards their well-being.
